a little bit about me
I have been doing hair for most of my life, and professionally for 17 years. I specialize in cutting, styling, coloring, and wedding hair. I work in a warm lofty space called Tsubo that my coworkers and I love. I currently maintain a very wonderfully devoted clientele of over 250 clients (and growing) for which I am very grateful. My clients and I, like old friends, get along really well. I think it is because I know how very important it is to listen to people and what they want, but also pay attention to people's personalities to give them their best style. My hair philosophy is to cut, color, and style in a way that will look great with as little work (for the client) as possible. My summers are usually full of bridal hair and I have done well over 100 wedding parties in the past few years.
As for yoga, I have an undoubted conviction that everyone needs it in their lives. I have been fascinated with and devoted to yoga my whole life and really came to realize it in my first formal class in 2001. Since then I have practiced at home, gyms, studios, and abroad. In 2006, I completed a 200 hour Yoga Alliance certification at It's Yoga in San Francisco and have been teaching classes all over Chicago since. Some of the most powerfully influential and inspirational teachers I have practiced with include Seane Corn, Jason Nemer, Tias and Surya Little, Aadil Palkhivala, Larry Schultz, Jim Bennitt, Gabriel Halpurn and many other wonderful local teachers.
My practice and classes focus on strength, grace, and detoxifying the body while synchronizing mind with movement, breath, and energy. In classes I emphasize finding comfort in your body and your mind and developing a more acute awareness of your Self and everything in life. I hope to share my understanding of yoga while continuing to learn and experience it for myself. Please check out my teaching schedule and join me in class!
the light in me honors the light in you
